Welcome to Big Brother 9: A New Light! I'm Brett, one of the hosts this season, and on behalf of the hosting team, I am pleased to bring to you all another great season of Big Brother. After 8 years of holding Big Brother games on TV.com, we decided that it was time for a change, and I hope that the new site brings even more awesome things to this game!

Of course, we can't have a Big Brother game without HouseGuests! So new players and returning players alike, join us here for what I believe will be a thrilling and game-changing season of Big Brother! To sign up for the game, please put your name below on the list. This game will begin sometime in May and will last around 2-3 months, so we are looking for players who will be active throughout the whole game and bring something special to make this season like none other.

There will not be a HouseGuest cap this season, but we're hoping for at least 12 players to sign up. Honestly, I feel like the more HouseGuests that there are this season, the more interesting the game will be. So once you've signed up, spread the word! We'd love to get more newcomers, and hopefully moving to a new site will aid us in that regard.

As for this season's twist? Well, some things are best left to find out later, right?? Good luck, and expect the unexpected!

Yes indeed, halfway to 12! I'm quite pleased with the turnout thus far, we have a nice mix of new and old faces.

Once we get 12 people we will start to work out a start date. The way this game usually works, we have each 'week' of the game start on a Sunday or Monday with the HOH competition and end on a Thursday or Friday with the live eviction, so the game itself will most likely start on a Sunday night. Of course once we pick the starting date we will leave plenty of time for a few more potential players to sign up.

Hi, everyone!

I am glad to see that the sign-ups are taking place and that many people have signed up. For those of you who do not know me, my name is Derek. I am one of the co-hosts of Big Brother 9, along with Brett and Joe. I've been involved with Online Big Brother since the start, when I won the first Big Brother. I have watched, participated, or hosted all of the seasons, and I can assure you that this game is a lot of fun. Each year, we work hard to make great and exciting twists and this season, I promise, is one that will change the face of the game entirely!

If you want to talk, don't be afraid to message me. I will try to be here as much as I can, but this summer is going to be extremely busy for me. For many of you that do know me, I am studying to be an attorney. When Big Brother first started, I was starting Undergraduate at Penn State. Since that time, I've graduated and was accepted into law school. This May, I am looking to graduate law school and will be studying for the PA Bar Exam! The exam is at the end of July. So, as you can imagine, while you are all playing the game, I will be hard at work studying for the big test. I will be involved in the game, hosting several challenges, talking with everyone, and wishing you all luck. But, it will be in a more limited capacity until after the Bar Exam.

So, with that, let me leave you all with some words of advice before the game begins. First, have fun! Enjoy the excitement, twists, and turns in the game. We're here for fun. Try not to let the game wear you down or change who you are. At the end of the day, you're successful at something, and hold onto that. If you have to take a moment to leave the game for a few hours, or a day, don't be afraid to do that. We won't change the schedule of competitions or any other events, but if nothing is happening, and you need to take time away, use your best judgment. I have personally known what it was like to get very involved in the game to the point that it got personal. It is hard to separate personal feelings from a game, but do your best. There is always another opportunity for you to succeed.

But, at the same time, to succeed on Big Brother, you have to play the game. You have to be able to adapt, make friends, maybe win a competition or two, and maybe even make enemies along the way. It also doesn't hurt to have luck! But, that is the name of the game. Never let your guard down, because if you get too comfortable, you might find yourself walking out that front door a lot sooner than you hoped. Expect the Unexpected is Big Brother's motto. It is accurate. Not only does this apply to twists in the game, but it applies to the players itself. Expect that people could stick with your alliance, but also expect the unexpected, they may take you out before you can take them out. Expect that each week, you could be nominated, you could be evicted, you could go from the top to the bottom or the bottom to the top. Big Brother allows that: it gives people the ability to go from being the person stepping out the front door to becoming King of the Castle. On Survivor, you are in the game until the moment your torch is snuffed. On Big Brother, you are in the game until the moment you step foot outside the door (or, in gaming terms, we state you have been evicted.) Don't stop fighting, don't lay down. Fight to the Finish.
